Job Title :                    Caterpiller Special Products Engineer (Materials Handling Equipment)

Reports to :                 Product Support Manager
 
 
Primary Purpose of the job :
 
Provide technical support and assistance ( technical consultancy ) to  Region's Product Support staff for highly specialised products such as Demag, Lorain, Centac, Paving Products, etc.
 
Principal Accountabilities : 
 
- Provide technical consultancy before /after sales to clients and Region's Sales staff.
 
- Provide technical support and guidance on troubleshooting and diagnosis to Region's Service staff.
 
- Prepare and conduct operational and maintenance training for customers and operators.
 
- Demonstrate products before and after sales.
 
- Visit customer site whenever necessary Kingdom wide to assist in rectifying problems, troubleshooting and diagnosis.
 
- Assist Region's Service Department in providing and sourcing accurate technical information, as required.
 
- Assist Region's Service management in determining training requirements in these Special Products.
 
- Be willing and capable of passing on his skills to Trainees under his supervision, in line with his Department’s Traineeship programme, or be receptive of being trained in coaching and assessing in the workplace.

Job Requirements :
 
Qualification :
      
- 10 years' experience in the field of troubleshooting,  diagnosing and application of Cranes, Paving products and Air products.
 
- Ability to train Service personnel and operators on operation and maintenance.  
 
- Computer knowledge is essential      
 
Experience :
 
- Five years minimum experience in hands-on troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment, especially Cranes (Demag and Lorain).

- Good knowledge and experience of Cat Paving products (Barber Greene) and Air products ( i.e. Centac ).

- Knowledge and hands-on experience in electrical and electronic systems is a  must .
